Ukraine Day 1174: LIVE UPDATES BELOW. OSCE reported that 4 civilians were killed and 6 wounded in the Donbass in the past week from mine or ammunition explosions. One of the wounded was a boy. Five Ukrainian soldiers were wounded in battle.

5 Ukrainian Soldiers Wounded in Battle; Explosion in Odessa; 4 Civilians Killed by Mines in Last Week

Alexander Hug, deputy head of the OSCE Special Monitoring Missio in Ukraine said at a briefing May 5 that 4 civilians were killed in the Donbass and 6 wounded in the past week from mine or ammunition explosions. One of the wounded was a boy, he said.

He also reported that on April 28, the mission recorded an explosion of ammunition as well as shooting at the members of an OSCE patrol near Molodyzhnoye and Krutaya Gora, separatist-held regions. On April 23, Joseph Stone, an American medic who worked for OSCE SMM was killed and two Europeans on the team were wounded when their car hit a mine.
An explosion went off early this morning in the courtyard of No. 35 Kanatnaya Street, the location of the volunteer orgainzation Samooborona [Self-Defense] of Odessa, Dumskaya.net reported.

Police said a grenade exploded, likely an RGD-5. A car parked in the courtyard was damaged but no people were hurt. Experts later found a trigger to an UZRG fuse with markings.
A similar explosion occurred at the Samooborona headquarters in Odessa two years ago.
Russia-backed militants made 63 attacks on Ukrainian positions  in the previous reporting period, Liga.net reported, citing the ATO [Anti-Terrorism Operation] morning dispatch. Five Ukrainian soldiers were wounded in battle.
On the Maritime line, militants struck ATO forces near Pavlopol with 120-mm mortars, anti-tank grenades and heavy mahine guns; 120-mm mortars, heavy machine guns and small arms were fired near Gnutovo and 82-mm mortars, a BMP, anti-tank grenades, heavy machine guns and small arms were used to attack Maryinka.
A BMP, 82-mm mortars, anti-tank grenades, heavy machine guns and small arms were fired on Vodyanoye and a BMP, grenade-launchers and heavy machine guns were fired on Krasnogorovka.
Ukrainian positions at Shirokino and Bogdanovka were attacked with small arms and near Novogrigoryevka with heavy machine guns. Grenade-launchers and small arms were fired on Ukrainian military positions near Novotroitskoye and Lebedinskoy.
Snipers were active in the area of Vodyanoye.
On the Donetsk line, 120-mm mortars, a BMP, grenade-launchers of various systems and heavy machine guns were fired on Ukrainian positions near Verknyetoretskoye and 82-mm mortars near Luganskoye.
Militants fired 82-mm and 120-mm mortars, a BMP, an anti-aircraft ZU-23-2 system, grenade-launchers and machine guns at positions near Peski; 120-mm mortars, grenade-launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms were fired on Avdeyevka and 82-mm mortars, grenade-launchers and heavy machine guns at Troitskoye.
Zaytsevo was attacked with a BMP, anti-tank grenade-launchers, and small arms; grenade-launchers and heavy machine guns were used to attack Ukrainian positions near Kamenka.

On the Lugansk line, 120-mm mortars, grenade-launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms were fired on positions at Krymskoye, and 120-mm mortars, grenade-launchers and heavy machine guns were fired on Ukrainian positions at Troitskoye. Novoaleksandrovka was struck by anti-tank grenades; Donets and Zhyoltoye were hit by small arms and grenade-launchers.

The Ukrainian military uploaded a video with interviews of soldiers describing the destruction of homes in the “gray area” from shelling by Russia-backed forces in Krutaya Balka.

– Five days after they were killed at the Svetlodarsk Bulge, the bodies of three Ukrainian soldiers were finally returned by Russia-backed fighters, Unian reported, citing the ATO. They were killed trying to evacuate a wounded soldier; that soldier was evidently brought to safety.
