4 Ukrainian Soldiers in Battle; 3 State Fiscal Service Officers Wounded Investigating Contraband Route

Four Ukrainian soldiers were wounded in battle in the last 24 hours, and three officers of the State Fiscal Service, Oleksandr Motuzyanik, Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman for ATO [Anti-Terrorist Operation] issues, Unian reported.
The injuries occurred when a mobile group of the State Fiscal Service fell under fire from Russia-backed militants as they were investigating a contraband route near the line of contact on the Seversky Donetsk River in Lugansk Region on October 29 near Lopaskino, Unian reported.
Ukrainian military were able to rescue the wounded officers and evacuate the wounded. All of them were hospitalized.
Russia-backed militants pounded Ukrainian positions 35 times today Unian reported, citing the ATO Facebook page.
The Mariupol line was again the focus with 20 incidents of firing near Maryinka (the border checkpoint) and Starognatovka from machine-guns, grenade-launchers and small arms; near Pavlopol and Pavlovka, 82-mm mortar-launchers were used. There was also firing near Shirokono from mortar-launchers of various calibers.
On the Donetsk line, there was firing on Vodyanoye from 152-mm artillery; on Avdeyevka, the Butovka coal mine and Zaytsevo with 82-m mortar-launchers, grenade-launchers, machine guns and small arms.
On the Luganskoye line, there was firing from a BMP; small arms were used to fire on Krymskoye; 82-mm and 120-mm mortar launchers, grenade-launchers and machine guns wer fired in Troitskoye; and 122-mm artillery in Kalinovo-Popasnoye.
Yesterday, October 29, Andriy Lysenko, Defense Ministry spokesman on ATO issues said there was a particularly intense battle on October 28 in the industrial zone near Avdeyevka (Avdiivka) lasting nearly four hours in which at least 130 shells were fired from artillery at separatist positions in Yasinovataya, Yakovlevka, and Makeyevka, striking Avdeyevka, Elenovka, Trudovskoye and the area near the Donetsk Airport. The Ukrainian forces returned fire. As we reported, 1 Ukrainian soldier was killed and 7 wounded.
He said one Ukrainian soldier was killed as we reported, and 7 were wounded.
Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak has urged that commanders at all levels ensure the timely delivery of winter uniforms and supplies to the troops at the front.
