Russia-backed fighters, who have been reducing their firing on Ukrainian positions in recent days, picked up their attacks again today, October 8, Liga.net reported, citing the ATO [Anti-Terrorist Operation].

One Ukrainian soldier was wounded near Peski.

During the day, shooting was minimal but around 18:00, militants began firing on all lines. They used grenade-launchers, machine guns and small arts to attack Ukrainain positions near Avdeyevka, Mayorsk and Zaytsevo.

Militants also fired on Vodyanoye, Gnutovo and Starognatovka with heavy machine guns. An 82-mm mortar-launcher was fired on Talakovka.
