5 Ukrainian Soldiers Killed in Battle; 9 Wounded in 2 Days; 2 Children, 2 Women Injured in Attack of Maryinka by Russia-Backed Fighters

Another heavy day of casualties with 5 Ukrainian soldiers killed in battle and 8 wounded, with 29 attacks by Russia-backed forces in the previous reporting period, the ATO [Anti-Terrorist Operation] reported.

Russia-backed fighters attacked the residential areas of Maryinka on Friday night, wounding two children, ages 3 and 9, and two women, Unian reported, citing the Ukrainian side of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC).
The four were taken to Kurakhovo District Hospital. The JCCC reported (translated by The Interpreter)
The three-year-old girl sustained a shrapnel wound in her abdominal wall; the 9-year-old boy suffered a shrapnel wound of the back, right knee and shoulder; the 19-year-old woman suffered a shrapnel wound of the left forearm and left hip and the woman born in 1963 suffered a shrapnel wound of the left hip. The status of all the victims was characterized by doctors as satisfactory.
At 6 pm, the ATO reported increased fighting in the past two days. On the Mariupol line, militants fired on Ukrainian positions at Vodyanoye. On the Lugansk line, they attacked Donets and Krymskoye.
At 2:00, as a result of shelling of Ukrainian positions near Novgorodskoye on the Donetsk line line, a Ukrainian soldier was wounded.
Earlier in the 6:00 am dispatch, the ATO said Russia-backed forces had attacked Avdeyevka with 82-mm and 120-mm mortar-launchers and small yars. Ukrainians returned fire. Militants also fired on the Butovka Mine.
On th Lugansk line, militants attacked Stanitsa Luganskaya and on the Donetsk line attacked Vodyanoye.
