The television channels coverage in 2019

This is part of a tranche of internal communications from deep inside infamous caterer turned troll farmer and mercenary backer Yevgeny Prigozhin’s Libya operation, always referred to simply as “the Company.” These files were originally obtained by the Dossier Centre,  a London-based investigative team funded by former Russian oligarch and political prisoner Mikhail Khodorkovsky. Please see our summary in The Daily Beast.

Translator’s note: The largest single component of the campaign to promote Saif al-Islam Gaddafi was the revitalisation of Jamahiriya TV, the remains of Colonel Gaddafi’s Libyan Jamahiriya Broadcasting Corporation.

This report was written by Anton Timchenko on March 11, 2019.

The Jamahiriya TV television channel began broadcasting in Libya in 1966 as Libyan National Television. In 2011 the channel ceased its broadcasts due to the seizure of its studios by the forces of the National Transitional Council of Libya.

The channel resumed broadcasts in 2012 from a studio in Cairo. Until the beginning of cooperation with the Company the channels broadcasts were chaotic, regularly stopping for 2-3 months.

Today the channel works on a continuous basis and is especially popular with the supporters of Saif Gaddafi.

The monthly audience for the channel exceeds 6 million viewers in the Middle East and North Africa.

The Company’s personnel carried out technical re-equipment of the channels television studios and paid off debts to staff and satellite providers. Company specialists are currently retraining the television channels employees and are also taking part in the production of new programmes and regular news broadcasts.

Thanks to the efforts of the Company, a network of “people’s correspondents” has been activated across all the major towns of Libya, daily providing news material.
