45 Ceasefire Violations Reported By Ukraine

At the Wednesday morning briefing by the Ukrainian military’s Anti-Terrorismt Operation (ATO) Colonel Lysenko reported that 45 ceasefire violations had been reported over the previous 24 hours. 5 Ukrainian soldiers were wounded over that time — there were no reported fatalities.

The Ukraine Crisis Media Center reports:

The largest number of ceasefire violations involving heavy weapons was recorded in Donetsk sector. Militants conducted 19 shooting attacks in 24 hours there, using mortars seven times. They directed lasting disturbing mortar fire at Ukrainian positions in Verkhniotoretske, Avdiivka and near Donetsk airport. Each attack included less then 10 mortar rounds, but involved also small arms and grenade launchers. Russian proxies attacked with small arms Zaitseve in the evening, and Luhanske and Opytne with APC weapons. 

Heavy fighting was also reported in the Mariupol sector. Unian.info reports:

In the Mariupol sector, the enemy fired 82mm mortars, Zu-23-2 anti-aircraft guns, grenade launchers of various systems and heavy machine guns on the defenders of the town of Maryinka. The Ukrainian Marines near the village of Vodiane came under fire from grenade launchers, armored vehicles, and heavy machine guns. The defenders of the village of Novotroyitske were provoked by “harassing” fire from anti-tank grenade launchers. The occupiers also opened fire from infantry fighting vehicles on the Ukrainian Marines near the village of Shyrokyne as well as an armored personnel carrier near the village of Pavlopil.

Ukraine reports 5 WIAs amid 45 enemy attacks in last day

Russia's hybrid military forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in Donbas 45 times in the past 24 hours with five Ukrainian soldiers reported as wounded in action (WIA), according to the press service of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters. News 12 April from UNIAN.

In its evening dispatch, the ATO reported 2 more soldiers wounded today bringing the total to 7.

The ATO reported that an additional 24 attacks were made by Russia-backed forces durning the day. Militants fired 120-mm, grenade-launchers and heavy machine guns on Gnutovo; they used 82-mm and 120-mm mortars outside Vodyanoye as well as an armed BMP and grenade-launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms. Near Maryinka, 82-mm mortars and heavy machine guns were used. Shirokino was fired on with an armed BMP and small arms; machine guns pounded the positions near Talakovka; a sniper was active near Vodyanoye as well.

On the Donetsk line, militants fired an anti-tank system, heavy machine guns and grenade-launchers on Ukrainian positions at Avdeyevka. Grenade-launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms were fired on Kamenka as well as Zaytsevo. Heavy machine guns were fired on Peski.

On the Lugansk line, an armed BMP was used to attack Krymskoye. Positions near Novoaleksandrovka were fired on with grenade-launchers and near Novozvanovka, grenade-launchers and heavy machine guns were used.
