1 Ukrainian Soldier Killed by Mine; 4 WIA, 3 Concussed; Attacks on Novoluganskoye

There were 20 attacks in the previous reporting period, Ukrainska Pravda reported on August 12, citing the ATO [Anti-Terrorist Operation]. 

Russia-backed forces attacked 20 times; 3 Ukrainian soldiers were wounded in action; 1 Ukrainian soldier stepped on a mine and was killed, and 3 were concussed, Ukrainska Pravda reported, citing the ATO [Anti-Terrorist Operation] evening dispatch.

On the Lugansk line, militants fired grenade-launchers and mortar-launchers on Schastya and Novotoshkovskoye. Near Sozoy, militants fired 120-mm mortars and also pounded Ukrainian positions near Krymskoye with 120-mm mortars.

On the Maritime line, Lebedinskoye was struck with grenade-launchers, mortar-launchers and smarl arms. Separatists also fired on Maryinka.

On the Donetsk line at about 21:00, Ukrainian positions were attacked near Avdeyevka and one Ukrainian soldier was wounded. Ukrainian forces returned fire to cover their positions.

The Ukrainian side of the Joint Centre for Coordination and Control reported that on August 12 at about 5:30, militants fired on ATO positions near Novoluganskoye, near Svetlodarsk, hitting residential areas. They used BMPs with cannon, anti-tank grenade-launchers and small arms, damaging gas and power lines and breaking windows and breaking walls and fences at a home on Pushkin Street. A car parked near the home had the windows, tires and body damaged. There were no injuries.
